Delaware Youth conference

DYC (Delaware Youth Conference) is for students in 6th-12th grade. For one weekend we will come together with other churches to worship God and grow closer to Him together. Students will stay in Host Homes through their local church. If you don't have a local church, we would love to find a host home close to you! The final cost is $45 per a student. You can register your student here: https://delaware-youth-conference-2019-lifehouse-smyrna.pushpayevents.com/

What to Expect

DYC will take place February 1-2, 2019 at Smyrna High School. Our aim is to help students follow Jesus and grow together so they will boldly live out their faith. We will spend the weekend worshipping, teaching, participating in breakout sessions, gathering in small groups, and doing group competitions. Students will be assigned a Host Home and Student Leader through their local church who will help transport students and provide sleeping accommodations. Students should arrive at Smyrna High School for registration between 7:00-7:30 on Friday night. They will be transported to their Host Homes by 11:00 p.m. on Friday night. They will arrive back at the school by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. On Saturday, we will all be together from 9:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m. at the school. After the last session students will be picked up at Smyrna High School.  After your student is registered, you will receive more specific details/schedule for the event.

what is a host home?

A big part of what we do at DYC wouldn't be possible without great Host Homes! This is a great opportunity for your family to open your homes and truly be hospitable. Host Homes will need to provide a safe and comfortable space for the students to sleep. There are usually 6-10 boys or girls in each Host Home. Typical Host Homes would provide a large enough space for all students to sleep in the same room, spread out on the floor and/or couches. We will provide each Host Home with snacks and breakfast items, but feel free to go above and beyond for your students. As a Host Home, we will need your help with transporting students back and forth to Smyrna High School Friday night and Saturday morning. All of the Host Homes will have a Youth Leader staying with them for the weekend to lead small group discussions and help with transportation!

If you have any other questions please email your Church Youth Leader or mike@lifehousede.com.

We Need your help!

One of our desires for the Delaware Youth Conference is not just to bring students from different churches together, but also to help connect the local church bodies in the advancement of the gospel! One of our greatest needs will be to have committed prayer teams. We truly believe that God alone will give the growth in our students, so we must trust Him by faithfully proclaiming His Word and seeking His face in prayer before, during, and after we move in any other way! We will also need many volunteers to help with leading students, preparing/serving meals, registration, safety/security, recreational games, photography/videography, administrative tasks, first aid, and extra drivers.
